As part of the implementation of the Procivico & Human Rights program, training for CSOs, CBOs and government entities in the use of Civic Participation Tools has been taking place since July 10 in the district of Montepuez, Cabo Delgado province. The training aims to promote understanding of the importance of civic participation in the decision-making process and knowledge of the instruments for civic participation, encourage collaboration and dialogue between stakeholders for more inclusive governance that is sensitive to the needs of the community, and empower participants to develop and implement effective civic participation strategies in their communities.
The opening session of the event was chaired by Isaura Maquina, Administrator of the Montepuez district, and Delmácio José, Director of AJDE.
Participating in this event are various government entities, including the Montepuez District Government, District Planning and Infrastructure Services, District Health, Women's and Social Action Services, District Command, IPAJ, political parties such as Renamo, Frelimo and MDM, as well as members of Civil Society, the MASC Foundation Civic Incubator, CDD Youth, Human Rights Clubs, Promura, community leaders, among others.
The training was organized by the Youth Association for the Development of Education (AJDE) in partnership with the Institute for Multiparty Democracy (IMD) as part of the Procivic and Human Rights project, which is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its embassy in Mozambique.
