As part of the implementation of the Procivico & Human Rights program, a training course for local CSOs on Civic Space and Citizen Participation in the decision-making process began this Tuesday, July 30, in the district of Cuamba, Niassa province. The aim of the training is to equip members of the Schools for Democracy with knowledge and tools for exercising active citizenship, as well as CSO engagement and participation in the Mozambican civic space and in the decision-making process. The event will be attended by 25 CSOs from the Cuamba District and will last two days.
The opening session of the event was chaired by the Cuamba District Administrator, João Júlio Maguindje, and by the Vice-President of the Niassa Civil Society Organizations Forum (FONAGNI), Anabela Lucas.
The training was organized by FONAGNI in partnership with the Institute for Multiparty Democracy (IMD) as part of the pro-civic and Human Rights project, which is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its embassy in Mozambique.
