Conference of Young Human Rights Defenders

The Mozambican Network of Human Rights Defenders (RMDDH) held the Conference of Young Human Rights Defenders on December 11 in the city of Nampula.

Under the theme Strengthening the capacities and agency of young human rights defenders in the context of closing civic space, the conference aimed to strengthen the capacity of young people as Human Rights Defenders to face the current challenges of civic space in Mozambique.

The conference also served to inspire and influence young people from secondary schools and universities in the northern region of Mozambique to identify and act as Human Rights Defenders, engaging in the promotion of Human Rights in the country.

The activity was carried out as part of the "Pro-Civic and Human Rights" project, a project implemented by the CDD through the RMDDH, in consortium with the Institute for Multiparty Democracy (IMD), the Civil Society Learning and Empowerment Center (CESC), the Civil Society Support Mechanism Foundation (MASC) and funded by SUOMI FINLAND.
