Members of the consortium implementing the PROCIVICO & Human Rights project launched the project in the city of Pemba on Tuesday (August 29).
The event was attended by various local figures, including members of the Provincial Executive Council, State Representation, members of the Provincial Assembly, District Administrators (Metuge, Montepuez and Chiure) and Civil Society Organizations.
It was also an opportunity to reflect with multiple actors on the challenges and opportunities of civil society participation in the governance process.
The project will focus mainly on the provinces of Zambézia, Nampula, Niassa and Cabo Delgado and aims to help promote greater visibility, participation and engagement of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and citizens in the decision-making process at different levels of governance, making them influential players in promoting inclusive governance that is sensitive to human rights issues and respects the needs of marginalized groups.
This intervention is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs through its Embassy in Mozambique.
