A "Round Table on the theme of Civic Space, Democracy and Human Rights - Platforms for Dialogue between CSOs and Government Institutions for the Development of Civic Space in the Province" took place on Friday, April 26, in the city of Lichinga.
The event was organized by the Institute for Multiparty Democracy (IMD) in partnership with the Forum of Non-Governmental Organizations of Niassa (FONAGNI).
The aim of these meetings is to strengthen the platforms for dialogue between the government and civil society organizations and to reflect on the challenges, opportunities and paths towards the development of civic space and citizen participation in local governance in Niassa Province.
The opening session was attended by the Governor of Niassa Province, Elina Judite da Rosa Victor Massengele and the IMD Programme Coordinator, Osman Cossing.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Provincial Executive Council, the Municipal Council, representatives of the invited districts, members of the Provincial Assembly, representatives of political parties, cooperation partners at provincial level, representatives of civil society organizations, the media and the general public.
This meeting is being held as part of the "Pro Cívico e Direitos Humanos" project, following the implementation of the Schools for Democracy initiative, which is funded by the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its Embassy in Mozambique, and implemented by the consortium made up of IMD, MASC, CESC and CDD.

As part of the implementation of the Procivico & Human Rights program, a Round Table was held on Tuesday, August 13th on the following topics
