IMD strengthens partnership with the Provincial Assembly of Zambézia

On Wednesday (20/03), the Institute for Multiparty Democracy (IMD) held a courtesy meeting with the President of the Provincial Assembly of Zambézia, Hilário Costa and the First Vice President, Angelina Marcelino, in the city of Quelimane.

The purpose of the meeting was to present the IMD's initiatives and projects in the province, with emphasis on the Pro-Civic and Human Rights Program, among other actions aimed at strengthening the Provincial Assemblies.

During the meeting, the President of the Provincial Assembly highlighted the need for continuous capacity building for Assembly members, through inductions, technical assistance and training for the newly elected. He also reaffirmed his commitment to collaborate with the IMD in implementing initiatives to strengthen democratic processes in Zambezia.

The Provincial Assemblies are strategic partners of the IMD, and meetings like this strengthen institutional dialog and actions aimed at promoting Multiparty Democracy in Mozambique.
